Greetings unto Their Excellencies 3M, and Officers of the Council,

Hauksgarðr Spring Revel 2011 scheduled for 4/30/2011

Event is on Track. New EIF filed with calendar with new event site as required by Kingdom.

Insurance paperwork came back to me because the date wasn't filled in on the form; it was re-sent by return mail with the date of the event.

Crier copy in, accepted and confirmed.

Autocrat's meeting held on the 6th.

Permit turned in to park people.

Table rental is confirmed.

Schedule sent to Their Excellencies asking if They are attending and if They will need Herald or other officer support; waiting for reply.

Will be arranging a time tonight with Duncan to borrow the few signs, tables, and kitchen items we would like to use for the event.

Sport of Kings 6 August 18-21, 2011 Autocrat: Sir Olin

Sport of Kings continues to march forward. Combat instructor registrations are going out this week in order to get class information and pre-scheduling set up. The non-instructor classes are nearly in the same position.


No staff meeting this month due to illness and doctor appointments. I will have several mini-meetings with the key staff members.


Submitting revised budget to council. No major changes just setting the gate fee back to last year’s numbers.

Concept: SCA Tournament focused learning event. It will not deviate significantly from the proven successful formula of the past events.

Dates: August 18 – 21, 2011 (Thursday through Sunday)

Location: TBD


Site fees: $20 adult, $12 adult daytrip, $8.00 Youth 17 and under, Babes in arms free

Breakeven: 400 adults.

2nd Monday social continues at the Multnomah Arts Center- Next month will host the Sergeantry games trial. Alfric and Jill

Customary and Orders meeting- Aleyn

Chronicler's Note: meeting not set. Her Grace Hlutwige suggested the customary needed to have all the people mind the council, not just the Coronet. Proposal was made that 2 or 3 people need to be delegated to deal with cleaning it up and proposing changes. Domna Attia expressed that it has been dealt with in a few hours previously in a meeting and stepped through quickly and efficiently. Duchess Hlutwige suggested changes be made electronically. Lady Selene volunteered to make changes as needed. Mistress Leah would like to sit down face to face and address issues in the document.

It was felt that major issues needing to be addressed were Cantons, consulting autocrats and the rental policy. Final decision was to set up a yahoo dedicated list to discuss changes to the customary only and announce the formation of the list on the 3Mountains yahoo group so that those who would like to participate in the discussion, may.

Old Business:

Approve previous month's meeting minutes as published in the Plume-Sebastiean says YAC report not printed last month, will print this month otherwise minutes ABC. -Sannan

Chronicler's Note: The Coronets have chosen Felix Avor to send to Art of War with donated funds from last meeting.

Games Box-Box completed-used at last games night and worked great Vivien

Chronicler's Note- Vivien would like permission to take the games box to Antir/West War to be used in a Games pavillion. Most of the boards she originally thought were chess boards are actually tablero, will come back with a bid for boards of canvas or leather to replace them to make the box more useable.

Council thinks having the box at AnTir West War is a great idea.

Meri announced her mother passed away and the viewing is Friday noon to 5, Mon Noon at Willamete National Cemetery for the internment and after that a reception which she needs some help from Barony food gods with. (She was immediately offered generous help.)

Leah announced that we made a good showing at Kingdom A&S. Her student Mariah Ursul's block printing on fabric won contestants' choice and judges' choice awards.

Aleyn passed on FROM the restaurant to please STAY together until your food order is placed and back to reduce confusion.

Six people in attendance, Jacinda, Aedan, Sophia, Muireann, Lianna, and our new visitor, Benjamin. (yay!)

Last month's meeting minutes ok'd.

Officer Reports:

Duties were discussed in detail for the new Seneschal. This was a very big help.

Exchequer: No changes from last report. Need to find out if there are new requirements with the Barony now that our branch status is official?

A&S: Nothing to report - discussed changes in reporting to 3M, is working on Crier Copy for Champions.

Discussed to all deputies that even when there are "no changes", it still needs to be reported monthly.

Events update:

Champions Site Copy was approved (good job!)

Our 2011 Demo has been approved by the City of Scappoose - we just need to pick a date and fill out the form provided and inform Lianna.

Embellishers class is still being planned, no responses to requests made to schools so far, need to continue to bug them for a yes or a no.

Need recommendation letters and largesse for Champions event.

Pirate festival is coming to St. Helens. Would like to find out more information about it.

Last meeting minutes ok'ed. 5 members in attendance. Start time 7:15pm, End time 8:13pm.

Officer Reports

Seneschal: Attended 3M Monthly Council meeting, gave report.

Exchequer: Attending Exchequer training on 4/2 - No change since last report. Balance of $1,236.53 on account.

A&S: Have new cache of leather for projects. Considering pouches, sewing kits, et al. Need ideas to use it up.

Upkeep: OK'ed to create Facebook group page to post group events.

Purchased kaldorness.org to be hosted by Jacinda & Keith. Website ideas discussed and hope to have running soon.

Would like to make Newcomer web page to point people to, something printable to give out as well.

Need to keep an eye out for places to hang flyers - ie, Burgerville, Subway to promote Canton

Events Calendar:

3M Champions: Discussed re-arrangement of pavilions on site. Need to work on "House Rules" for site.

Demo 2011: Date decided for 7/30/11 - need to contact Lianna and fill out forms together to be turned into City of Scappoose. Alternate date (but not preferred) would be 8/5/11.

Embellishers Class Academy: Aedan has volunteered to be Site Liaison to Autocrat Muireann. Jacinda is in contact with Scappoose School District office regarding the rental of classrooms - has follow-up scheduled for after 4/1/11. We need 4-6 classrooms with a common area (cafeteria?). Expect to be at site by 7am, out by 8pm. Would like to have access to Kitchen/Cafeteria to prepare food. Need to make sure that Restrooms are unlocked and can be used. Would like to reserve for two days, cost allowing.

Old Business:

Largesse work day still being rolled around - will not be prepared in time for Grand Thing. Aiming for largesse delivery to Sport of Kings.

Discussed writing up period/medieval book reviews, fiction or non-fiction. Send to 3M Chronicler to be published in the Plume.

Directory information for the Barony to Lois by 4/1 if interested. Can send to Alex and she will forward in one message if you would like to be listed.
