V1.1

Slave functions and transfer mechanism of the CP 5614

V1.0

Base version

    1. Restrictions

Multiboard operation

Under Windows XP, no multiboard mode is possible with DPC2.

Incompatibility with certain PC types

The CP 5613/CP 5614 does not work on a Celsius 620 computer with Tyan 100 motherboard

This problem has been fixed from hardware version 03 of the CP (mid 2000).

Hardware problems corrected

Due to a hardware error on the ASIC used for the slave submodule of the CP 5614, the firmware sometimes came to a standstill on the older versions 1.1 and 1.2 if frames longer than 32 bytes were transferred on PROFIBUS between the master and a slave. If the slave submodule of the CP 5614 was not activated, the problem did not occur.

As of software version V2.0, this hardware problem no longer occurs.

FDL programming interface

The FDL-IDENT service is not supported.

Uninstalling / deactivating CPs using the Device Manager

Configured CPs must not be uninstalled/deactivated using the Device Manager.

    1. Notes on Commissioning

If the Plug-and-Play mechanism does not find the driver after installing the CP and then rebooting the computer, the computer must be forced to find the driver at the instigation of the user.

Follow the steps below:

1. Restart your computer.

2. Go to the Device Manager (taskbar Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager button).

3. In the "Device Manager" dialog, click the "Scan for hardware changes "button in the menu bar.

4. Confirm all the following dialogs with "Next".

    1. Notes on Configuration and Configuring

Commissioning Wizard

In the Commissioning Wizard, only fixed PROFIBUS bus profiles can be set for the node initialization.

User-specific bus parameters for large network spans and networks such as redundant OLM rings can be specified with the "Set PG/PC Interface" tool.

You can start this software tool from the Windows Start menu -> SIMATIC -> SIMATIC NET -> Settings.

Correcting bus parameters

When using PG operation, please note that if the bus parameters are incorrectly set, you must reset and restart with the "Set PG/PC Interface" program after correcting the bus parameters.

Configuring the CP 5614 as a slave

It is currently only possible to configure the CP 5614 as a slave using GSD files. If necessary, you can orient yourself on two sample files for the CP 5614 or CP 5511 that are copied to the SIMATIC.NET\DP\DEMO_GSD folder when you install software. You can import these files in SIMATIC NCM PC/STEP 7 and change their configuration accordingly.

If you require the Ident number of the slave, you can take this from the relevant GSD file.

Inserting/removing CP 5613/CP 5614 communications processors

If you insert a further CP 5613/CP 5614 communications processor or remove an inserted CP 5613/CP 5614, all configured CP 5613/CP 5614 are removed from the Station Manager. You may need to reconfigure the modules in the computer.

    1. Notes on the DP-Base Programming Interface

Using hardware events

If a DP application uses hardware events for data changes (input data/diagnostic data), the events must be activated during program startup for the slaves to be monitored and deactivated for the remaining slaves (see Section 4.3.12 " DP-Base Programming Interface"). This ensures a defined initial status.

Correction to the manual, section 4.3.4 "Check Slaves for Data Changes"

In the DP_5613.H file, DPR_DATA_CHANGE is defined with the value 0xFF.

During operation, however, req_mask can adopt the values 0xFF or 0xFE.

For this reason, the least significant bit must not be queried (see program example).

if ( (p->ef.input[i].req_mask | 1) == DPR_DATA_CHANGE)

{

...

}

    1. Communication Partners / Facts and Figures
