Dated 1976 or later, same as the 2nd Pattern (#3294); was issued until replaced by the BDU Camouflage Cap in the 1980s.

3298 UnDated OG-106 Baseball CAP (2nd Pattern)





All of the #3298 were made by the ACE MFG. CO., INC. of San Antonio, Texas.


I believe these were ISSUE caps ( see 3298F below )


Similar design as #3296 but sweatband is made of a Brown Leathette material.





A. 7 (someone wrote “1/8” after the 7 -- but this is not a 7 1/8 size), no date, Certificate NO. 9-2031-C, not sure of the exact vintage but has the sturdy white label of the 1970s, USAF subdued Blue Colonel’s Eagle sewn on front, minor wear, EC+

( This cap is Issue, it was bought at a DRMO (Defense Re-utilization Material Office) Auction at Fort Ord in the late-1980s. I think that is what DRMO expands to. )

OD Cotton Field Cap authorized in 1943

Short-billed(2 1/4" +/-) "Patrol" Cap with Earflaps & Vents

NO stitching on the Bill - it is smooth

Fold-down Earflap is lined with Flannel or Wool


Catalog #3330 will have 2 x Side Vent Grommets per side (4 total)


By February 7, 1945 the side-vents had started to disappear.

No. 5294, label is hard to read, Last-4 stamped inside (matches the “JFK” stenciled on top of the bill), something stenciled on underside of bill, 3/8” hole in the wool lining of the earflap(see picture), lots of “oil” type stains (I believe he worked on vehicles from the look of the stains) = needs to be cleaned, a real “SALTY” looking cap, Used
