Questions you will answer:

What are the minuses of traditional noting?

What are the basics of Mind Mapping (MM)?

What is and how works the key-word?

What is the secret of its efficiency?

In what way M M stimulates and enforces synergy of both hemispheres?

Brain’s work during learning procedures

We think with images

We always link new information with our previous knowledge

We actually never forget anything

Stages of learning

  1. Concentration

  2. Encoding

Consolidation (repeating)

Rule of abundance:

The more you know (remember), the more you can learn

Rule of creativity:

You will never forget what you have created

Complete the following:

  1. While learning make several breaks, usually after each....................... minutes

Without knowing the proper way of learning we forget ............% of new info after first 24 hours.

Main Memory Systems

Mother of knowledge is memory

Mother of memory is the method

Ancient Greeks

Bird’s eye view:

The secrets of Link and Peg Memory Systems show how the modern mental tools of memorising work in practice and that the basics of the systems are simple and easy to grab. Very littler is needed to help our memory.

Questions you will answer:

Can fleas teach us something?

How many memory systems you should know in your learning practice?

What are the reasons of memory failures while using memory pegs?

How much info can you absorb using the Link Memory System?

Capabilities you will possess:

You will know precise and specific mental tools to speed up effective learning and facilitate the every-day tasks in your professional and personal life.

  1. Memory peg is deliberately chosen and perfectly memorised word, simple and easy represented on your mind s screen, with which using vivid and strong associations you can link (and thus remember) practically unlimited amount of information

  1. Link Memory System is most useful in memorising new info in original order and sequence

Memory Peg systems we use to memorise new info in numerical order.

Complete the following:

  1. If the trained memory is like big closet, memory pegs are like............................

Usefulness of all the memory peg systems depends on perfect......................... them.

To memorise effectively new info using memory pegs you need three things. 1. Vivid picture of the peg. 2 ..............................., 3...................................

shirt

concrete

of foreign background

  1. Using the Link Method you associate:

b. three elements of the sequence

c. first element with the second

d. or create story from the beginning to the end of the sequence

Perpetual calendar

Memory is time is money

Memory Pegs for months

January – 1

February – 4

March – 4

April – 0

May – 2

June – 5

July – 0

August – 3

September – 6

October – 1

November – 4

December – 6

Memory Pegs for years

2011 – 5

2012 – 0

Example of calculus:

4.12.2011

4 + 6 + 5 = 15

15 – 2 x 7 = 1: Sunday

17.05.2012

17 + 2 + 0 = 19

19 – (2 x 7) = 5; Thursday

Exception: For the dates in January and February in the leap years subtract 1 from the result obtained by the method.

Leap year- easy recognition
