Ms Day-Stirk a midwife with more than 30 years experience said “it is an honour and a privilege to be elected as the president of the ICM and it is an unparalleled opportunity to build on the international work that has been part of my career at the Royal College of Midwives."

On behalf of GHWA, I'd like to congratulate Frances for her outstanding achievement. She will, no doubt, with her dedication and commitment use every opportunity to advance the cause of midwifery and midwives globally," said Dr Mubashar Sheikh, Executive Director of GHWA.
