1.1.6 LAYOUT OF CONTRACTOR'S PLANT


a. General.   Within 30 days after award of contract, the Contractor shall submit, for review by the Construction Engineer, drawings showing the layout of the plant the Contractor plans to construct for operations at the site of the work. The layout shall be approved before construction of the plant begins onsite.


The drawings shall show the general location of such principal plant components and facilities as offices, shops, warehouses, storage areas, fabrication yards, employees' parking areas, first aid station, compressor station, concrete and aggregate plants; air, power, and water lines, including fire hydrants; temporary access and haul roads; and areas for processing, storing, and waste disposal of earth materials.


The Contractor's drawings shall include appropriate information to describe the sizes, rated capacities, and general features of the aggregate processing plant, including transporting, storing, screening, and washing facilities; the concrete batching and mixing plant; and concrete conveying, placing, and cooling plants.


The Construction Engineer shall be advised, by submittal of revised drawings or other means, of any changes in the plant made during the design and erection stages or after the plant is in operation.


The Contractor shall furnish sufficient space for the Government to place a mobile office trailer in the Contractor's work area.


b. Cost.   The cost of complying with this paragraph shall be included in the prices bid in the schedule for other items of work.
